Last updated: February 19, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the INTRO mobile application, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. INTRO is operated by INTRO ("we," "us," or "our").
2. Description of Service
INTRO is a career fair networking platform that helps students, recruiters, and event organizers connect more effectively. The Service includes features such as digital business card creation and exchange, QR code scanning, AI-powered resume parsing and follow-up message generation, voice note recording and transcription, real-time booth queue management, candidate pipeline tracking, recruiter session management, data export to ATS systems, and event analytics.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years of age to use INTRO. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization (such as a university or employer), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
4. Account Registration
To use certain features, you must create an account. You may register using your email address or through third-party authentication providers such as Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary.
5. User Types and Roles
INTRO supports three user roles, each with different capabilities:
- Students: Create and customize digital business cards, scan QR codes to connect with recruiters, join virtual booth queues, receive AI-generated follow-up messages, access booth preparation tools, and manage professional connections in organized folders.
- Recruiters: Scan candidate QR codes and resumes using the device camera, manage candidate pipelines with ratings and tagging, record and transcribe voice notes, export candidate data to CSV or ATS-compatible formats (Lever, Greenhouse, Workday), generate session analytics and AI-powered candidate matching, and manage booth queues.
- Organizers: Create and manage career fair events, configure company booths with job descriptions and requirements, manage real-time booth queues, view event analytics including booth traffic and attendee engagement, and invite recruiters to participate in events.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Upload, share, or transmit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, or otherwise objectionable.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service.
- Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from the Service without our express written permission.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers and networks connected to it.
- Use the Service to spam, harass, stalk, or send unsolicited communications to other users.
- Upload content that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.
- Use the Service to collect personal information about other users without their consent.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit through the Service, including your profile information, business card designs, resume data, uploaded photographs, voice recordings, and connection notes ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant INTRO a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and providing the Service. You represent that you have all necessary rights to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe on any third party's rights.
8. Content Moderation and Reporting
To maintain a safe and professional environment, INTRO implements the following content moderation measures:
- Content Filtering: We reserve the right to review, filter, and remove any User Content that we determine to be objectionable, inappropriate, or in violation of these Terms.
- Reporting: Users may report offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content or behavior by contacting us at jiouyuc@umich.edu. We will review all reports and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
- Blocking: Users may block other users to prevent them from viewing their profile or contacting them through the Service.
- Enforcement: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate our content policies or engage in abusive behavior, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.
9. AI-Powered Features
INTRO uses artificial intelligence to provide certain features, including follow-up message generation, resume and business card parsing, voice note transcription, candidate matching, analytics normalization, and session summaries. These AI features are powered by third-party providers (OpenAI and Google Gemini) and are provided on an "as is" basis. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content (such as follow-up messages, candidate matches, and analytics summaries) may contain errors or inaccuracies and should be reviewed before use.
- Data processed by AI features is sent to third-party AI service providers for processing, subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.
- You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated content before sending it to other people or relying on it for hiring decisions.
10. Device Permissions
Certain features of the Service require access to your device's hardware and software capabilities. You may be asked to grant the following permissions:
- Camera: Used for scanning QR codes to exchange digital business cards and for capturing resume or business card images for AI-powered parsing via the device's document scanner.
- Microphone: Used for recording voice notes about candidates during recruiting sessions. Voice recordings are transcribed to text using AI and stored as text notes.
- Photo Library: Used for selecting profile photos, headshots, company logos, and other images to customize your digital business card.
- Push Notifications: Used for sending you alerts about booth queue position changes, connection requests, event reminders, and other service-related notifications.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time through your device settings, though doing so may limit certain functionality of the Service.
11. Data Export and Portability
You may export your data at any time through the app's privacy settings. Recruiter users may additionally export candidate data in CSV format or as ATS-compatible packages for integration with applicant tracking systems such as Lever, Greenhouse, and Workday. Exported data is provided in standard formats and is your responsibility once downloaded.
12. Account Termination and Deletion
You may delete your account at any time directly within the app through Settings > Privacy. Account deletion is permanent and will remove your profile, business card data, connections, uploaded images, and all associated data from our active systems. We may also suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine to be harmful to other users or the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
13. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, branding, and underlying technology, is owned by INTRO and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of any software that forms part of the Service, unless applicable laws permit it or you have our written consent.
14. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services for authentication (Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple), data storage and hosting (Supabase), AI processing (OpenAI, Google Gemini), push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and other functionality. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.
15. Apple App Store Terms
If you download or access the Service through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that: (a) these Terms are between you and INTRO, not Apple, and INTRO is solely responsible for the Service; (b) Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service; (c) in the event of any failure of the Service to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any), and Apple has no other warranty obligation; (d) Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the Service, including product liability claims, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property infringement claims; and (e) Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
16. Fees and Payment
INTRO is currently offered as a free service. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future. If we do so, we will provide advance notice and clearly disclose pricing before any charges are applied. No fees will be charged without your explicit consent. Any future in-app purchases or subscriptions will be processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's payment terms.
17. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. AI-POWERED FEATURES ARE PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES AND SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON AS THE SOLE BASIS FOR HIRING OR OTHER EMPLOYMENT DECISIONS.
18. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTRO AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE SERVICE.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless INTRO and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
20. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the revised Terms within the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
21. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
22. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
23. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and INTRO regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
